Resolved Question: Moving to Newcastle-upon Tyne from Australia?

Hi I am interested in moving to England for a year or more and since I am a fanatical Newcastle United supporter I would love to live in Newcastle and watch them play. I am a barista (Coffee Maker) in Australia and would like to continue with that job, question I have is would I be able to get work and earn enough to pay for rent in a good location? Are the people there nice?
